    If you have warts on your scrotum, they may be genital warts or common warts, both of which are caused by human papillomavirus infection. Human papillomavirus has a high affinity for skin and mucosal epithelial cells, and mainly causes proliferative diseases of human skin and mucous membranes.

    1. Genital warts

    It is mainly caused by the skin and mucous membranes of the urogenital tract infected by human papillomavirus types 6 and 11, and is a sexually transmitted disease. Human papillomavirus can be infected through tiny wounds, enter the epidermal spinous cell layer, proliferate and replicate, and can cause spinous cell proliferation, epidermal thickening and epidermal keratinization, forming papillary or cauliflower-shaped viral warts. The color is usually white, pink or dark gray, and usually occurs in the external genitalia, perianal and other parts of the body, that is, on the scrotum;

    2. Common warts

    It is mainly caused by human papillomavirus types 1, 2, 3 and 4. The color is usually gray-brown, brown or skin color. It is mainly transmitted through direct or indirect contact. It enters epithelial cells through minor damage to the skin and mucous membranes, proliferates and replicates in the epithelial cells, leading to epithelial cell heterogeneity and proliferation, forming wart-like excrescences. Common warts can occur in any part of the human body, but are usually more common on the hands and feet. If you accidentally come into contact with a scrotal virus, common warts can be transmitted to the scrotum.

    If warts grow on the scrotum, it is recommended to treat them promptly. Laser treatment can usually be used to remove the warts. After removing the warts, topical mupirocin ointment, fusidic acid cream and other drugs are generally required for consolidation treatment. If it is genital warts, the primary lesions usually need to be treated. If necessary, antiviral drugs such as interferon can be intramuscularly injected for treatment.
