According to the current common definition in the domestic sports industry, specialized sports skills are the exclusive movements, tactics, and rule application abilities formed for a specific sport, covering three categories: Olympic competitive sports, mass leisure sports, and traditional national sports. They range from exclusive operational abilities in niche sports such as alpine skiing and competitive sailing to standardized movement abilities in basic track and field sports such as sprinting and long jump.
Many people may have misunderstood the word "special event" and think that it must be practiced by professional athletes. How can it be so mysterious? When I taught youth tennis lessons in the community for the past two years, I taught the children racket grip, forehand and backhand hitting, and baseline footwork. These are the most basic tennis skills. They are completely different from playing casually with a racket. Every movement has been honed through so many years of project development. It is efficient in exerting force and is not prone to injury.
However, the boundaries of special skills are not completely unified in the industry. Some scholars from sports schools believe that emerging sports such as Frisbee and flag football, which have become popular in recent years, have not yet formed a unified national skill assessment standard. For the time being, they are not strictly specialized sports skills, but can at best be regarded as leisure sports abilities.; But most of us who are engaged in mass sports on the front line don’t see it that way. After all, many primary and secondary schools have now incorporated Frisbee into school-based courses, with fixed movement requirements and tactical rules. We can’t teach children that we are not learning special skills, right?
Speaking of which, last time I went out to climb mountains with the old guys from the cycling club, some newbies squeezed the brakes and fell while going downhill. The old riders said that this was because they had not mastered the special skills of riding. They need to pay attention to the adjustment of the center of gravity when cornering and the braking rhythm on slopes. If you really practice it, you will not only have fun riding, but you will also suffer less. Even the Tai Chi practiced by the aunts and uncles in the community every day, the postures and the connection of moves are all special skills in martial arts, and they are not just a matter of casual gestures.
