There is really no standard answer to this matter. It all depends on your needs, usage habits, and even the distance from your home to the gym. It is not wrong to say that it is a fitness god assist or an IQ tax.
I was most impressed when I trained strength with a friend in the past two years. At first, I squatted with my own weight at home and did deadlifts with two buckets filled with rice. If you have no motivation, go to the gym and ride to the music of the spinning bike for 40 minutes. It is much more efficient than watching videos at home for two minutes before reaching for your phone.
But on the other hand, the people around me who have applied for annual passes and gone there less than five times can’t be counted on both hands. A while ago, my colleague complained that he was tricked by a salesperson into getting a two-year card worth 3,000 yuan last year. He had to take three subway stops to get to the gym. It took almost an hour to go back and forth to change clothes. It was troublesome to go there twice. The card is still collecting dust in the drawer. ; There are also small gyms that open in office buildings. I almost applied for a card the year before last, but within half a month after I paid the deposit, the boss ran away with the money and still hasn’t gotten back the deposit. Not to mention that many people go to the gym and are constantly surrounded by personal trainers asking, "Do you want to buy a class?" "You may get injured if your movements are wrong." I originally wanted to relax, but it ended up being more annoying than going to work. It's really better to spread out a yoga mat at home and dance for half an hour.
To put it bluntly, a gym is just a sports venue with professional equipment. It is no different from the track downstairs in the community or the horizontal bar in the park. Whatever suits you is the best. If you have a clear need to build muscle or load more weight, or if you are unsure of your movements and need to adjust in front of a mirror or with auxiliary equipment, or if you just like the atmosphere of a group of people exercising, then the gym is definitely suitable. ; If you just want to work up a sweat with light activities every day, and there are no reliable venues within a ten-minute walk from your home, there is really no need to join in the fun. The best way to exercise is the one that suits you.
