In fact, weight management dietary techniques that can be implemented in the long term are essentially centered around "low burden and sustainability". There is no need for you to cook with water every time, count calories and worry. The core is to make small adjustments to your existing eating habits and slowly create a safe calorie gap.
Two years ago, I helped my best friend who lived in the same community to adjust her diet. She followed the online tutorial and ate boiled broccoli + chicken breast for a week. She went out to dinner with friends on the weekend and showed off two burgers, a cup of full-sugar milk tea, and half a box of Korean fried chicken. She finally gained back the two kilograms she lost due to hunger in three days, and gained one more kilogram. This was because her diet standards were set too high from the beginning, and her body's sense of deprivation reached a threshold and exploded.
There is a lot of debate on the Internet right now about "should we completely quit refined carbohydrates?" Both sides are right. I have a friend who doesn't like to eat rice and noodles. His staple food is corn and sweet potatoes all year round. Cutting off refined carbohydrates is no burden to him. He has steadily lost ten pounds in three months and has no discomfort at all.; But there are also colleagues who stopped eating rice every day in order to lose weight. As a result, the aunt postponed the meal for 20 days in the third month, and her complexion was so bad that she couldn't even cover her blemishes. Later, she restored half a bowl of rice and then slowly adjusted it back. There is no standard answer to this kind of thing. You have to adapt to your own eating habits.
If you order takeout every day at work, you don’t have to choose expensive light meals. I have fallen into this trap before. The vegetable salad with a layer of Caesar dressing on it has more calories than a bowl of tomato and egg rice bowl. Then I order ordinary home-cooked dishes, which are better than For example, one portion of stir-fried meat with green peppers, one portion of stir-fried vegetables, and ask the merchants to serve less rice. When eating, take two mouthfuls of vegetables and meat, and then eat two mouthfuls of rice. You don't have to go hungry or overeat. On the contrary, you can last much longer than chewing on tasteless vegetable leaves.
There is another small detail that many people don’t notice, that is, don’t wait until you are so hungry that your stomach growls before you go looking for something to eat. I used to be busy with projects until three in the afternoon before having lunch. When I was so hungry, I ate and grilled, and unknowingly ate twice as much as usual. Later, I kept a stick of unsweetened waxy corn or a small bag of original almonds in my work desk drawer all year round. I would take a few bites when I got hungry after two o’clock in the afternoon, and I would not gorge myself on overeating at dinner time.
As for the mythical "not eating after noon" that is popular on the Internet, I advise you not to try it blindly. If you have a regular schedule and go to bed at 10:11 in the evening, then it is perfectly fine to eat a sixty-seven-minute full dinner. If you stay up until two or three in the morning every day, not eating after noon means being hungry for more than ten hours, and you will most likely get up in the middle of the night to look for snacks. My colleague did this before, and he gained three pounds in half a month. It is totally not worth the gain.
In fact, to put it bluntly, weight management is not a ten-day and half-month assault mission. You can slowly adjust it in a way that is comfortable for you. Even if you just drink one less full-sugar milk tea and eat one more green vegetable every day, the effect will be more reliable over time than if you starve for half a month and overeat.
