There are actually not so many bells and whistles involved in growing healthy nails. The core is to do less work on the nail surface, protect the nail circumference, and keep up with nutrition. There are hundreds of nail care essences and nail care packages on the market. Most of them are premium products, and many of them will actually be harmful.
I was an avid manicure enthusiast for the past two years, and I would change the style every half a month. When the manicurist was removing my nails, I was grinding the surface so hard that I could not help but gasp, just to make the style more flattering and flattering. How thin did your nails get afterward? It becomes sour when exposed to hot water, and it splits with the slightest force. Even when tearing a potato chip bag, you have to be careful not to lift the nail bed. Later, I saw a dermatologist who was a nurse. She asked me to stop all manicures and not even use irritating nail polish removers. I would just wait for the remaining glue to grow out naturally with my nails. After washing my hands, I would take some Vaseline and rub it around the nails and rub it evenly. I usually don't tear off barbs or use my nails to open courier bottles and pry bottle caps. I dubiously followed it for 3 months. My newly grown nails are very stiff and the dense vertical lines before have faded by half. I can now pick out the tabs of cans without worrying about splitting them.
Speaking of this, I have to mention the "constructive nail care" that has been particularly hot on the Internet recently. Some people say that thin nails can gradually become thicker after being constructed, while others say that repeated polishing of constructed nails will damage the original nails. In fact, both theories are reasonable. If you really can't help but want to do a manicure, the construction can indeed form a layer of buffer between the nail surface and the nail polish glue, which can reduce the corrosion of the glue and the probability of nail splitting. It can protect the nails to some extent. ; But if you don’t do manicure very much, there is no need to go out of your way to “keep your nails”. The cuticle on the surface of your natural nails is much more protective than artificial glue. Repeated polishing will wear off this natural protective film, which is not worth the gain.
Many people only focus on whether the nail surface is shiny and long enough. In fact, if they don’t pay attention to the small details around the nail, no matter how good the nail surface is, they will not be able to maintain it well. A while ago, a colleague of mine tore off a barb and tore the skin around the nail. He didn't take it seriously at the time. The next day it became red and swollen with pus. The swelling lasted for almost a week. Finally, he went to the dermatology department of the hospital for drainage. During that time, his nails were slightly deformed due to inflammation. In fact, if you have a barb, don't tear it off. Just use clean little nail clippers and cut it off at the root. When you wash your hands and apply hand cream, take a band around your nail. Don't let it get too dry, and the barbs will naturally disappear.
There are also many people who rush to buy biotin and imported armor tablets as soon as vertical lines or white spots appear on their nails. In fact, it is really unnecessary. According to current clinical research, as long as you do not have malnutrition or malabsorption, additional biotin supplementation has no obvious strengthening effect on healthy nails. On the contrary, excessive supplementation may affect the results of some blood tests. It is enough to eat eggs, nuts, and dark green vegetables normally to ensure adequate intake of protein and trace elements. If you find that your nails suddenly become black, dented, thickened, or have a large number of white spots for no apparent reason, don’t just buy nail care products and go to the hospital to check whether it is a fungal infection or other physical problem. Many times, abnormal nails are signals sent by the body, so don’t take it seriously.
I occasionally get a manicure now, but I do it once every two months at most. When removing my nails, I also tell the manicurist to polish the nail surface less. After all, rather than looking good, healthy nails are the most practical. You can’t go around the world looking for scissors every time you unpack a package, right?
