Peter Jonathan of the University of New Mexico and his colleagues created a special personality test form to include "dark characters" such as narcissism, impulsivity, thrill-seeking, lying, coldness, and being good at playing power.

Jonathan and his colleagues invited 200 college students to fill out a test form and asked some questions, such as how many times they have been in love and whether they will develop short-term relationships.

The survey results show that the higher the score of "dark personality" male easier to win female Fangxin also prefers to develop short-term relationships.

The British "Independent" said that the typical "bad" man is James Bond in the 007 series of movies. However, he is the "popular lover" of almost all women.

Jonathan told "The Independent" on the 19th: "Bond is a typical 'bad' man. He is too outgoing, likes to seek excitement, and has killed people, but he is very popular with women. ”

Although bad qualities such as narcissism, impulsivity, and lying can help "bad" men win women's hearts, these qualities run counter to the good qualities promoted by traditional society.

The survey report said that if these bad qualities are too extreme in a person, the person will become unsocial and be ignored by everyone.

The strange thing is that many women like the "dark character" of "bad" men, thinking that they make them more masculine and have a higher chance of breeding with them.

As a result, the "dark characters" of "bad" men are passed on to the next generation more smoothly. This may explain why some bad traits can persist in human character.

Coincidentally, David Schmidt of Bradley University in Illinois conducted a survey of more than 35,000 people from 57 countries. The conclusions reached are not far removed from those obtained by Jonathan and colleagues.

Schmitt said: "'Bad' men are more willing to actively pursue women and like to develop short-term relationships. These characteristics are not restricted by culture or country and are true everywhere. ”

Regarding the research of Jonathan and colleagues and the survey of Schmitt, Barbara Oakley of Oakland University in Michigan commented that it is often said that "men are not bad and women are not loving", and these two surveys prove this statement to some extent.

Christopher von Lueden of the University of California, Santa Barbara, said two studies confirmed that personality changes have a direct impact on human adaptability.

Matthew Keller of the University of Colorado believes that researchers need to further explain why the bad qualities of "bad" men are not universally present in everyone.
