Reasonable and scientific fitness will not cause estrogen abnormalities. Only extreme fitness methods that violate the body's rules may interfere with hormone levels. There is no need to dare to exercise because of worries about hormone problems.
To be honest, I have been in the gym for almost 6 years, and I have seen quite a few contrasting cases. Last year, I met a 28-year-old girl who was preparing to compete in an amateur bodybuilding competition. In order to reduce her body fat, she had to reduce her body fat from 24% to 15% for 3 months. She climbed stairs for 1.5 hours on an empty stomach every day, and soaked in the strength zone for 2 hours in the afternoon. She ate everything every day. The cistern was accurate to the gram, and I only dared to spray the oil twice. Later, I didn't see my aunt for more than two months, so I went to the hospital to check six sex hormones. The estradiol level dropped directly to the critical value of menopause. The doctor asked me to stop training and eat well. It took me half a year to return to normal.
But don’t just think that fitness is a scourge. Sister Zhang, who has been practicing with me for 4 years, is now 41 this year. She does strength yoga three times a week and two times, and each training session only lasts for one and a half hours. She has never tried any extreme diet that cuts off carbon and fat. She also occasionally eats cakes and milk tea. Last year, the department had a hormone test. Her estrogen level was standard compared to many girls born in 1995 who stay up late every day and diet. Even the gynecologist asked her if she has the habit of exercising regularly.
There are indeed quite polarized views on this matter on the Internet. On the one hand, it is said that women will become "men" and lose all their estrogen when doing strength training. In fact, it is really a misunderstanding. The amount of normal and natural fitness training will not increase testosterone to the extent of affecting estrogen. Unless you secretly use anabolic banned drugs, that is your own fooling around and has nothing to do with fitness itself. On the other side, they advocate that exercise is universal, and you have to be hungry to practice three or four hours a day to be called "self-discipline." This also completely fails to take the characteristics of women's hormones seriously. Women's hormone balance is particularly sensitive to energy supply. If long-term consumption is much greater than intake, and the body fat rate is lower than 17% for a long time, the body will assume that you are in an existential crisis of lack of food and clothing, and automatically reduce reproductive-related functions first, and estrogen secretion will naturally decrease. This is essentially the body's self-protection, and it is not a fault of fitness at all.
To put it bluntly, this is just like raising green plants. The longer they are watered and exposed to the sun, the better. If you put them in the sun every day without water, even the most sturdy plants will wilt. This is the relationship between fitness and estrogen. There is really no need to worry, don’t follow the trend and rush into extreme training plans, eat well before and after training, and don’t cut out carbohydrates and healthy fats casually. If you find that the amount of exercise suddenly decreases or is delayed, quickly reduce the amount of training and eat a few more bites, and you will basically not encounter the problem of hormone disorders.
