To put it simply, Reiki is a subcategory under the general category of energy healing. The two are included and included. Don’t confuse them as equal concepts. To use an inappropriate analogy, energy healing is like the entire fruit category, and Reiki is the apple among them. It has its own fixed variety attributes and planting thresholds. It cannot be said that all fruits are apples, right?

I have been in the field of healing practice for almost five years, and I couldn't tell the difference at first. It wasn't until I learned the second level of Usui Reiki from a teacher and received dozens of cases that I slowly understood the boundary between the two.

Friends who have been to offline healing centers have most likely seen that "reiki healing", "crystal energy healing" and "sound bowl energy healing" are often placed together on the project list. Many people think they are different methods of the same type. In fact, the latter two belong to the broad category of energy healing. Only reiki has a fixed heritage and entry threshold.

Traditional Reiki originated from Usui Reiki founded by Usui Onuo in Japan, and later derived branches such as Karuna Reiki and Shambhala Reiki. No matter which sect, if you want to get started seriously, you have to take the step of "initiation" - you have to have a formal certified instructor to help you open the energy channel through a specific ceremony, so that you can call the corresponding Reiki frequency. You can't get started by reading a book or watching two instructional videos.

The boundaries of energy healing are much wider. As long as the core logic is to adjust the physical and mental state by adjusting the subtle energy field of the human body, it can basically be included in this category. It can be as small as chakra meditation and singing bowl sound therapy as you can see on short videos, as large as quantum touch therapy, etheric body cleansing, and even the use of external objects such as flower essences and crystals as assistance. They are all different forms of energy healing. There are no fixed inheritance requirements, and many methods will be adjusted according to the habits of different healers.

I had a client who I followed up for half a year. She had seen two different therapists when she suffered from migraines. The first time she had crystal singing bowl energy therapy, the therapist placed an amethyst grid around her head and banged the singing bowl for 20 minutes. The swelling and pain immediately subsided by 70%, but she faintly started to have migraines again in the afternoon of the next day.; The second time she asked me to do Reiki, I didn’t use any tools. I just used Reiki techniques and gently placed my hands on her head, between her eyebrows, and her shoulders and neck. At that time, she said that she didn’t feel any pain and it would go away immediately. She just felt that the hard lumps in her shoulders and neck that had been stiff for several days slowly softened like sun-dried butter. After that, she didn’t have any more migraines for three days.

Of course, there are different opinions on this matter in the circle. Some practitioners believe that whether it is Reiki or other energy healing, the essence is to use the same source of cosmic energy, but the carrier and path of transmission are different. There is no need to make such a clear distinction.; There are also reiki masters who strictly adhere to the inheritance and feel that reiki has a unique high-frequency vibration, which is completely different from those random healing treatments on the market that just use the name "energy". To confuse them with each other is to disrespect the inheritance.

To be honest, the existence of "subtle energy fields" has not yet been confirmed by the mainstream medical community. Most of the related healing effects are mostly classified as placebo effects. If you experience it, it is completely fine to use it to regulate emotions, relax and relieve stress. If you have real organic physical problems, don't delay. Go to the hospital first to see a doctor.
