Chu Shizi

　　Pu Shizi is the dry and mature fruit of Broussonetia papyrifera (L.) Vent., a plant in the Moraceae family. Mainly produced in Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Shanxi, Gansu and other places. In addition, it is also produced in Zhejiang, Sichuan, Shandong, Anhui, Jiangxi and other places. Mostly wild, but also cultivated. Harvest the fruits when they are mature in autumn, remove the membranous calyx, and dry them in the sun for raw use.

　　[Efficacy] Nourishes the kidneys, clears the liver, improves eyesight, and is a diuretic.

　　【application】

　　1. Soreness and weakness in the waist and knees, steaming bones due to fatigue, dizziness and blurred vision. This product is sweet and cold, nourishes yin, and is good at tonifying the yin of the liver and kidneys. It is often used with wolfberry and black beans to treat symptoms such as soreness and weakness in the waist and knees, asthenia and bone steaming, night sweats and spermatorrhea, dizziness and blurred vision caused by liver and kidney deficiency.

　　2. Dim eyesight. This product is cold and can clear away heat, clear the liver and improve eyesight. If there is heat in the liver meridian and eye obstruction, grind Pu Shizi into powder and mix it with honey decoction. Such as Chu Shi San ("Ren Zhai Zhi Zhi Fang"). If the wind and heat attack, resulting in blurry eyes, tears, and blurred vision, take this product with Schizonepeta paniculata, Digupi, refined honey pills, and rice soup.

This product enters the kidney meridian, nourishes kidney yin, helps generate kidney qi, and can treat symptoms such as bloating and difficulty in urination caused by unfavorable qi transformation. Mix it with cloves and poria, grind it into powder, use Pu Shi extract to make pills, and take it until urination is clear, such as Pu Shizi pills ("Su Wen Ji Ji Yi Bao Ming Collection").

　　For external use, it can also be used to treat carbuncles and sores. Because this product is sweet and cold, it can clear away heat and detoxify, remove putrefaction and promote muscle growth.
