These names are not made up by me sitting in front of the computer. Since I started to run a home fitness community in 2020, I have changed the community name 5 times, tested 12 account names, and cobbled it together with more than 20 bloggers in the same track.

Speaking of which, there are actually two schools of thought on the matter of naming in the fitness circle, and no one can convince anyone. One group is pure pragmatism and believes that the name must contain precise keywords, such as "home", "fat burning", "vest line", "no equipment" and other words that users will directly search for. Add as much as you can. After all, there are too many people doing home fitness now. If you don't have keywords in your name, others will not be able to find it, and it is useless no matter how good the content is. I have actually tested it before. Two accounts that were opened at the same time have basically the same content. One is called "Xiao Meng's Home Fitness" and the other is called "Xiao Meng's Exercise Daily". In the first 7 days, the search traffic of the former was 2.7 times that of the latter, and the number of fans increased more than doubled. Don't tell me, this trick really works.

The other group thinks that names that are too straightforward are not memorable. Nowadays, the number of fitness bloggers that everyone sees is either 80 or 100. If your name is similar to others, you will forget it when you turn around. It is better to have a network sense, colloquial style, and self-propagation attributes. For example, Liu Genghong's "fat clicks off" at that time, who wouldn't remember it half-heartedly? Friends can casually say "I recently followed that fat blogger who lost weight", and the cost of communication is much lower than a name with a long list of keywords. I used to have a friend who was a fitness mom. He initially named the community "Home Fat Burning Check-in Group", and it only attracted more than 20 people in half a month. Later, it was changed to "Sofa Chubby Mom Group", and it attracted two people of 500 people in a week. Why? As soon as mothers see the word "sofa", they know that they don't need to change into fitness clothes or go out. They can sit on the sofa and coax their babies to move. The threshold is suddenly lowered, and naturally there are more people willing to join the group.

Oh, by the way, there are a few pitfalls that I must mention. Don’t just pick the ones that sound good and use them. Don't use uncommon words. There was a blogger who named himself "sou" before. The word "shou" looks similar to "shou" but has different pronunciation. Many people typed it incorrectly and couldn't find it in search, which wasted a lot of traffic. There are also words that are too long. It is best to keep them within 7 characters. If it is too long, users will not be able to remember it and it will be difficult to pronounce. I used to name the community "Home Fitness, Burn Fat, Slim Legs and Gain Muscle Check-in Group". It was so long that the group announcements took up half a line. No one wanted to mention it. Later, it was changed to "Stay at Home and Move." When everyone was chatting, they often said, "The check-in gift for the Let's Move and Move group this week has arrived." It has a much stronger sense of existence.

If you are really confused about which one to choose, it is actually simple. If you want traffic for a public domain account, choose the straightforward model with keywords. If you want to be active for a private domain community, choose the spoken language model with memorable points. If you are really unsure, try both. Anyway, if the name is not suitable, it will be fine if you change it later. I changed my account name three times, and it did not affect the traffic. On the contrary, I can attract a wave of curious new fans every time I change it. Oh, yes, if you switch from offline personal training to online, it is best to include your original studio name in your name. Old students can find you at a glance, and the conversion rate is much higher than that of unfamiliar accounts. I previously helped a personal training friend who has opened a studio for 5 years change his name to "Life Fitness Home Personal Training". When old students saw it, they immediately came over to sign up for online classes. In the first month, they earned more than 80,000, which is more than what he earned from taking offline classes.

You see, in fact, naming is not that important at all. The core is just one: your target users should look familiar and pronounce it smoothly. Don’t struggle for a long time to decide. Good content is the key, and the name is just a stepping stone.
