Acupuncture and massage bone setting themselves will not cause harm to the body. The so-called "bad for the body" is essentially caused by the practitioner's unqualification, irregular operation, and incorrect symptoms. It has nothing to do with the therapy itself.

I have been doing rehabilitation physiotherapy for almost 7 years. Over the years, I have seen many people frowning and asking me if bone setting is easy to cause paralysis, or if acupuncture can damage nerves. In fact, these are all misunderstandings. Last year, there was a 26-year-old programmer who had a stiff neck. In order to save trouble, he went to the master of the health center downstairs in the community to have his bones fixed. The master came up and pressed his neck twice without saying a word. After the massage, he felt numbness in his left arm, which did not get better after two days. After coming to our place to take a film, he found out that it was a misaligned small joint that compressed the nerve root. After that, he came to our director and adjusted it three times before he completely recovered. Do you think this can be blamed on bone setting? The master couldn't even produce a medical certificate, and he couldn't even feel the basic structure of the cervical spine. It would be strange if something didn't happen.

There are many faults for bone setting and acupuncture. Not long ago, an aunt in her 50s came to treat her shoulder and back pain. She said that she had received acupuncture at another health center and her chest had been sore for several days after the acupuncture. She went to the hospital to find out that it was a small amount of pneumothorax. When I asked, I found out that the technician there had only been trained for half a month before taking up the job. When the acupuncture points on the chest were acupuncture, they did not control the depth and the pleura was penetrated directly.

In fact, there has long been a consensus in the industry that as long as it is performed by doctors with formal qualifications, whether it is acupuncture or bone setting, it is very safe. However, there are too many irregular institutions on the market now, which has given these two therapies a lot of bad reputation. Some people always feel that it is too dangerous to stick needles into the flesh, but they don’t know that formal students of acupuncture have only studied system anatomy for a year or two. They know which blood vessels are where and which nerves take what paths. There are strict standards for the depth and angle of the needles. The soreness, swelling and numbness that are usually caused by the needles are normal feelings of qi. They will disappear after two hours of rest, and there will be no problem at all. Some people think that the rattling sound of bone setting is scary because they are afraid of breaking the bones. In fact, before regular bone setting, a complete assessment will be done. X-rays will be taken to see the condition of the bones. If you have contraindications such as osteoporosis, cervical spondylolisthesis, and severe spinal stenosis, you will not be violently reset at all. They will use skill to adjust the misaligned small joints. After the surgery, you will only feel that the shoulders, back, and neck are loose, and it will not hurt the body at all.

To be honest, these two therapies are just like the kitchen knives in our homes. If you put them in the hands of a chef who knows how to use them, they will be a good helper for cutting vegetables and cooking. But if you give them to a child who knows nothing, they will be easy to cut. You can’t say that there is something wrong with the kitchen knife itself, right? If you really want to do these two projects, don't be greedy for cheap and find a small restaurant with incomplete qualifications. Ask the other party first if they have a medical qualification certificate. Before doing it, explain your basic diseases clearly. For example, if you have high blood pressure or osteoporosis, tell the doctor in advance. Symptomatic treatment will basically not cause any problems.
