Not all chronic diseases can apply for early retirement. Only special circumstances that meet legal conditions can be approved. I helped my relatives apply for medical retirement three times in the past two years, and I have a very clear understanding of the process.
Our country is now very strict on the approval of early retirement. After all, it affects the whole body and is related to the sustainability of the entire pension system. It is not something that can be applied for by just suffering from common chronic diseases such as high blood pressure and chronic gastritis. There are several strict requirements for statutory sick retirement that cannot be avoided: you must first be of sufficient age, men must be over 50 years old, women must be over 45 years old, and pension insurance has been paid for 15 years in total. The most important veto item is that you must undergo a professional appraisal by the local labor ability appraisal committee to confirm that you have completely lost the ability to work. If you are missing any of these conditions, you will not be able to advance to the approval process.
My distant cousin has been suffering from COPD for 12 years. He used to work as a porter in a machinery factory. He applied for the first time when he was 49 years old. At that time, he had to rest two or three times when he climbed the third floor. He was breathless and speechless when he walked fast. The result of the evaluation was "mostly incapable of working." At that time, he had just turned 51 and had paid social security for 29 years. After doing so, he received more than 3,200 per month, which was nearly 1,200 less than what he expected to receive when he retired at the age of 60. However, he was really unable to do heavy work, so he was finally settled.
There is now a lot of controversy about this standard. Many patients with chronic diseases feel that the requirements are too harsh: For example, those with diabetic foot complications and severe rheumatoid joint deformation are obviously unable to work in their original positions. However, as long as they can still do some simple light physical work, they do not meet the standard of "complete loss of working ability" and cannot be approved no matter what.; However, there are also voices that feel that the current tightening is necessary. If the standards are relaxed, many people will take advantage of the loopholes. Those who can still work normally will pretend to be sick and apply for early withdrawal. In the end, the payment pressure will be passed on to young people who are paying social security, which will be unfair to more people.
Of course, formal retirement is not the only way to go. If the company has an internal retirement policy, patients with chronic diseases who are really not qualified for the current position can also negotiate with the company to retire internally. However, this is an independent benefit of the company and is not the same as early retirement at the social security level. During the early retirement period, the salary is paid by the employer, and social security must be paid normally. After reaching the legal retirement age, you can officially retire and collect pensions.
If you really feel that your chronic disease is so serious that you can't work, don't browse around for a long time on the Internet, and go directly to the labor ability appraisal window in the social security office with the hospitalization records, examination reports, and medical records of the past six months for consultation. The answer given by others after reading the materials will be the most accurate, so you don't have to work around for a long time in vain.
